I am doing a research project that involves compiling as complete as
possible a list of the leaders of German Jewry, from about the year 940 ACE
until the present, with as much information about them that is still extant.
One of the pieces of info that is most available is the pupils or disciples
of each leader. In Genealogy programs generally, there is a requirement to
input the parents of any given individual. I need though, a program that
will allow for inputing a child or a father (and any other info about the
person), but will chiefly enable me to input a mentor or a disciple for any
given individual. I cannot use just any Family Tree program because such a
program usually alows me only two parents and one of them must be female, as
your program clearly requires. Some of the leaders, take Rashi (1040-1105)
for example. He had four mentors and he was not their only disciple. How am
I going to map this on a typical or even sophisticated Family Tree program?
If anyone has any information about a program that will assist me, I would
really appreciate your contacting me.

No genealogical program is ideal for every case but you can use GenoPro features to consruct what you need. The image below shows 3 ways to link people using either a family link but changing it to adoption; a Social Relationship or a Emotional Relationship. The line colours can be changed and usually different pattern applied
