if i run a report with a tree that has "." in the name

Wm. Robert Barbrow as the name

it will generate a file called

wm.robertbarbrow.html

I've seen this confuse programs becuase it sees the file as wm and the extension as robertbarbrow (instead of html

is there a way to blank out illegal charters from the fill naming process?

By default, Windows hides the extension, so a file named "a.b.htm" will be displayed as "a.b", making it to appear as having the extension ".b".

In the file Config.xml, replace the following

<Report Template="individual.htm" OutputFile="{Name.LastOrLast2:25}-{Name.FirstAndMiddle:35}-{id}.htm" For="Individuals" LoopItemName="i" />

with

<Report Template="individual.htm" OutputFile="{id}.htm" For="Individuals" LoopItemName="i" />

This will remove all names from the the filenames, threfore there will be no unwanted dots.  The other solution is to remove the dot from the name.  GenoPro has a special field for a name prefix and a name suffix.
