I recently saw a demonstration of Custodian, a data base developed for genealogist's records. The way of re-arranging columns was very impressive. Click on a column heading and drag it to a different position.
The other, follow on feature, is that having set up a table layout it could be saved and re-loaded at a later date.

Is this a potential Gamma feature?

You can change the column layout of the Table Layout.  Simply right click on the column, select the menuitem Properties.  You will see a list of all the columns, where you can show/hide them and change their order.  GenoPro also remember the settings of the columns, so next time you bring the Table Layout, you have the same layout as last time.

GenoPro can only save the current view of the table. I use a different layout when entering/checking birth/baptism or death/burial. It would be helpful if these different views could be saved.

The technique of re-arranging columns works, although I sometimes find the key board (Alt+Shift+Arrow) does not work and have to use the mouse (which is slower). The Custodian technique with the mouse is much quicker.

Custodian is not an alternative to GenoPro and I do not think I will start using it. However it has many useful features as a database, some of which hopefully will appear in Gamma. Date stamping of records is another option.

http://www.custodian3.co.uk has a free sample download. Limited to 10 records per form but no time limit
