My problem is similar. I have a family tree, pretty complete and the file has three GenoPro tabs. The situation involves the family tab on my mother's properties tag. On GenoMap 1, everything is fine. On GenoMap 2 there was information missing from the family tab and so I copied and pasted my mother from GenoMap 1 to GenoMap 2. I then deleted the original link from GenoMap 2 and reconnected the marriage and the children links. Appearance wise, all looks just fine. The problem now is that the family tab for mom is blank on GenoMap 2. Following the advice given in post 24612 (How do I enter the birth mother to a spouse/father and 4 children already entered?) results in a print over of the existing siblings. So, if that is the only way to reattach a parent link to her family, then the problem continues on thru the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The unanswered question remains: How to reattach a family link with all of it's due properties without having to re_enter up to 50 family links complete with each members personal data. I don't need to reprint visually anything. I just need the information seen to register on the properties tag and any printed history that might be generated.

Dad's properties tag shows him married with four children. Mom's shows her married but no children. I tried reattaching one of the children, but it didn't show up on the family tab on mom's properties tag. I am using version 2.0.1.6 of GenoPro, and I am tired of trying to find the answer to something that is probably there, but you just don't know how to locate it. Further, it would be really nice to be able to send the problem directly to the creator of the product instead of posting it on the web, hoping that the right people will see it, that someone will reply and that if and when they do, that I will be able to find it.

This is my first post. perhaps some of my concerns will evaporate, I hope so. I checked for updates and was told there aren't any.

Thanks to someone for their help.

The problem you have is caused by the use of 'copy and paste' instead of 'move'. It is a pity that the action is labeled move as this suggests removal from one Genomap on transfer to the other. The action in fact creates a duplicate and this will show up as two (identical) entries in the table layout. The two individuals are hyperlinked on the display.

Do you have an earlier version before the copy & paste? I try to remember to make a backup before any major re-arrangement - but must confess that memory is not what it should be. Without a backup you could try to undo the copy & paste (after backup) and use the Move function. There have been many posts here about how to link such displays

Thanks appleshaw for your reply. I am just now getting around to responding as necessity has forced me to once again to try and figure out how to use this forum. Though the timing is late, and perhaps you have given up on any reply, I do want you to know that I caught it and I would have never figured out the difference between 'move' and 'copy and paste'. I am sure I have other replies out there on the internet in other forums that I hadn't figured out how to get to and because of the first time experience and frustration in just trying to connect with someone, I probably will never see. Anyways, thanks again, and now that I know that someone somewhere is watching, I will be looking for other replies on this forum. I still like the email better though. Thanks again very much.
