I would love to be able to create and apply visual labels for individuals in the genomap, ideally in the form of different colours for the individuals, similar to how the relationship specification works. I use GenoPro for fictional and mythical genealogies as well as my own family tree, and in some cases the two converge; my maternal grandmother was Icelandic, and I am currently researching the genealogies of the Icelandic sagas. This is actually what inspired the request; I would like to be able to use labels to distinguish between mortals, gods, and giants in the genomap. This can be useful for more standard genealogies as well, using the colours to separate family groups in a similar manner to how the family tags work, but less obtrusively.

Thanks! Smile

Have you looked at the options of the Display menu? In addition to colouring the gender symbol, either a single colour or 4 different quadrants, you can also place a rectangle round an individual and colour both border and/or fill.

If you work out a scheme you can apply it to a large number of individuals by selecting them all and open the properties menu. (Either press return or right click and select) You can then colour all individuals in one go

w00t Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for; I'd seen it before, but I hadn't realised just how much I could do with it. BigGrin: I think I have an idea for a signature line now...
