E-mail files won't open

Author Error message says Adobe not supported or files damaged due to improper decoding

I am unable to open GenoPro files that have been e-mailed to me.  I get a message that Adobe cannot open the file because it is not supported or the file was damaged--possibly because it was not properly decoded.  I have received e-mailed files in the past using the same method (I think).

If you receive GenoPro files (.gno) as email attachments then save them onto your hard disc and then either open them from GenoPro, or right click and use 'Open with' to use Genopro on the file.
If that is not the problem then please give more details
