Try using a newer version of the Narrative Report skin templates as the version included with GenoPro 2.0.1.6 has problems due to changes by Google.
Revisions to skins are posted on this GenoPro forum. I suggest you try my latest revision . download the zip file attached to that post. 1st set the location of your chosen GenoPro custom skins folders (see GenoPro Generate Report dialogue, Options tab. Create a new folder under your skins folder and unzip the files from the download into it.

One possibility is that the Google Map settings for the report are not correct. They should work for your own PC but need updating for a different web address (ie not GenoPro).
I didn't intervene to make any changes, so whatever address pops up is the one configurated by the program.
When you create a report make sure that the Option to display the Configuration Settings is not checked, so that it loads the menu.
I didn't change anything in the settings, such as appears in the attachment.
Look at the Google Map Settings to see if there is anything wrong. For your PC there should be a key starting ABQIAAAAS....
here are the settings
If you publish to your own web page you need a different Map Key
I don't ask for publishing, just "generate report".
Also make sure you have a recent version of the report generator as I seem to remember an update was needed because Google changed the way the API works.
How can i update?
Thx
This map feature is really important to me, hopefully it will work out for me.

Are you using the original narrative report or are you using a modified report? When you make your report are you connected to the internet?I answered this 2 days ago, but don't see my post so here it goes again. I just click on "generate report" so i don't think I'm using a modified one.
Yes i'm connected to the internet with a super high speed.
Is the destination of the report on your PC or somewhere else? Can you post a screen shot of the page when the error appears?
On my PC.
Hopefully this will post correctly. Thx for answering

Hi, and Thx very much for answering.
What i what is to be able to see a map with markers for each town/city where an event occured (birth, marriage, death) and if possible, a corresponding display of names for each one of these but...maybe I want tooooo much ???
I first started with the myheritage program, which I quit because i'm not ready to pay an ongoing monthly fee (when over 250 individuals), but they do seem to offer this feature with their "full" costly program, if i understand their promotional explanation of it.
So I figured Gen pro would/could do the same ?
???

NiKo (11/7/2010)
Evelyne, I add my Places in a hierarchy. Country, State/Province, City, School/Church/Residence, etc. Then I use Google Earth to locate the Latitude and Longitude for each item in the hierarchy, and cut and paste it into my tree. The items higher in the hierarchy will populate the sub items with their Lat/Long if you don't enter it yourself. Then generate your report. When you click on the link on the front page of your tree "Overview Map of all geocoded places", and zoom into a particular location, you will see who has a relevant entry if you click on the red marker. I'm not sure if there is an easier way to do it, but that's what I do.
Thx a lot for your answer, and all goes well until "red marker" : there is no red marker whatsoever (or i don't know where to look for it, the map is there with all the locations, but no marker). Whether I enter lat / long or not. And i've tried every possible way to enter these two :
for Bruges for ex: 51° 12′ 0″ N and 3° 13′ 0″ E (with spaces, with no spaces), or decimal 51.2° and 3.216667°... nothing seems to do it. When i click on : "display all places and locations in the report", and then " display google map of this location if available", the bottom of the page says error on this page", so'I'm doing something wrong, but i can't figure out what:
Alveringem Belgique, located at latitude 48.22467264956519, longitude 1.7578125.
Bellegem is Bellegem Belgique, located at latitude 50.783333°, longitude 3.283333°.
Boezinge is Boezinge Belgique, located at latitude 50°53′0″ N , longitude 2°51′0″ E .
The address of Bruges is Bruges Belgique, located at latitude 51° 12′ N , longitude 3° 13′ E .
Bruxelles is Bruxelles Belgique, located at latitude 50° 50' 0″ N , longitude 4° 21′ 0″ E
Any more suggestion or can you see what i'm going wrong?
Unhappy Evelyne
