Is the number of licences the # of people who can have access to the software at anyone time? Is number of licenses = to the number of people who can acces the software ie for example 10 individuals from a the same family of origin but who are all married with families all vingin in differnet hoseholds. I want to purchase this software for my aunties and Uncles on my Dads side of the family but they all live under different roofs and two in different countires. About 7 live inthe same country and 3 live in the same country.  Does this mean I purchase 10 licenses?

Canyo give me some feedback as soon as possible asI will be leaving in a couple days to visit my relatives and I want to decide if this is the best software to give them as a belated Christmas present to my Auntie and Uncles and cousins.

Cheers

A one-user license is for one user, or one computer.  For instance, you are welcome to use the same registration key on all the computer you personally use. Say you have a desktop at work, a notebook for traveling and a home computer, then you may use the same registration key on all those computers.  On the other hand, if you have a family computer, or a public computer such as in a school or library, then a single registration key is necessary, regardless on the number of users.

By the way, if you wish to create a family tree and distribute it to your relatives, then your relatives do not need to purchase GenoPro.  GenoPro can open and print any family tree without a registration key.  You need a registration key only to save family trees larger than 25 individuals.

How long does the licence last, is there a yearly subscription? What is the upgrade policy?

OK, I see a couple of answers automatically generated from the underlined words - pretty clever stuff, thanks.

So it's a one off lifetime purchase, but my experience is that you really need to have updates/upgrades as they become available, so can you give an indication of how frequently new versions are produced and what discounts are given for existing customers? When was the previous version issued and how much did you charge to upgrade from it to the current version?

I purchased GenoPro over 10 years ago and have not had to pay for any of the many upgrades. It is stated that the next version, which is intended to ba a collaborative version, will involve an extra charge.
Fixes, and not many needed now, are free

Thanks, that sounds good. My experience with Family Tree Maker is the opposite, I bought FTM 2011 Platinum last year and now they have brought out a 2012 version and wanted me to buy it all over again. After a lot of argument I eventually got a 50% discount, but really it should have been free as I had bought it barely a year ago.

I have always thought my purchase of GenoPro has been one of my best moves in computing/family history. Not only does it do all that I want, it provides (free) online back-up of data and also free hosting of reports. Publishing reports (without living people) has meant that I have been contacted by many people with common interest.
