Hi,

The standard Descendants Tree Chart (EN) skin generates a chart which looks like:

Descendant Tree Chart for Joseph Marie Lewis Suzor

Collapse All Expand All

Joseph Marie Lewis Suzor ♂  ( b. 20 Sep 1915 Pointe Est, Diego Garcia d. 1 Feb 1996 Curepipe)

oo Anne Marie Mireille Froget ♀  ( b. 12 Dec 1922 Mount Estate, Île Maurice d. 1993 Curepipe)

I would like to generate Descendants Tree Charts written with a different font (such as Arial). I noticed that the ui.dynatree in the skin says, but it is not tahoma, arial helvetica:

/*******************************************************************************

 * Tree container

 */

div.ui-dynatree-container

{

/*

                font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica;

                font-size: 10pt; /* font size should not be too big

                white-space: nowrap;

                padding: 3px;

                background-color: white;

                border: 1px dotted gray;

Also, how and where could I change the color of the icons and change them to bold.

Thank you for your help. Best regards

Roland

Hi Roland,
In theory you should be able to change the font using the Configuration Parameters dialogue for the report, but I have just tried it and there is a bug here that I need to correct (style attribute is font-style when it should be font-family. I will also change icons to bold at the same time (both are changes to the file DescendantTree.css). You can also change the colours of the icons by adding your own custom style sheet via the Configuration Parameters dialogue to modify the classes dt_relation, dt_male, dt_female, dt_pet & dt_nogender or modify DescendantTree.css directly in a custom skin.

I'll publish a revised skin shortly with the corrections as above.

Hi,

I tried the new skin (Descendant_Tree_2011.04.01.zip). The font choice works now fine using the HTML option. The "marriage" and "divorce" icons are changed to bold when a bold font is selected, but the gender icons remain very faint..

Appended a test using the Britannica bold font (not my favoritr, just for illustration purpose.

Kind regards

Roland

Unfortunately the gender icons are Unicode characters and are absent in many fonts. The browser then seems to use a default font such as Times New Roman in which the characters are poorly defined.

I used characters rather than gif images in the html version for simplicity (laziness!) and similarity with the rtf version. I think I need to revise the code to use gif images for these icons.
