Author Child entries supressed at top level, but the first letter still appears in the index

Sorry to be a pest Unsure

The Sources and Citations index and the Place index suppress child entries at the top level, but the associated first letter of the child entries are still created:

I customise the skin to suppress the top level A-Z, so this issue isn't a problem for me, but I thought you'd want to know.
