Sorry to hear you are not feeling in the best of sorts, hope you get better soon.

Nice idea for the slideshow. The current slideshow is pretty clunky compared to today's offerings. I had not come across Lytebox before, it's neat and self contained. I have used a jquery plugin, FancyBox, for the Descendant tree chart and on other projects, which has similar features, but not the automatic slideshow that Lytebox has.

I still hesitate about making too many changes to the narrative report, as a total rewrite is really required, but this looks reasonably straight forward to implement (famous last words!). I think thumbnails are still required, both for a preview and to fill that void on the right. Also a way to show a picture fullsize if required.

I like the current slideshow implementation, but find it frustrating that the slideshow is only available in thumbnail size. If you click on one of the photos to expand it, you cannot continue the slideshow with the larger sized pictures.

I've been casting around to see if there might be a suitable alternative. This one is easy to implement, some images, a bit of css and a js file:

For simplicity I used the photo icon as the access point for the slideshow, but it could just as easily be implemented with the first photo displayed to the right, as is the case in the current implementation.

Neck and back pain are limiting my time at the pc this week, so I can't spend the time I'd like to develop this futher.
