Hi,
I tested the Narrative 2011.07.23 skin with my database and it worked fine. I then replaced the Config.XML and Dictionary.XML files with their french versions (FR 2011.1.16) and got the following error messages:
[21.99] Processing template 'default.htm'... Avertissement: Tag AltTOCToggleOpen présenté à la version 2011.02.04 est absent du dictionnaire et a été par défaut à This frame will stay open after an entry is selected. Click to change Avertissement: Tag AltTOCToggleClose présenté à la version 2011.02.04 est absent du dictionnaire et a été par défaut à This frame will close after an entry is selected. Click to change [22.05] Processing template 'toc_individuals.htm'... Error at line 34 (toc_individuals.htm): Invalid procedure call or argument: '[string: "(null)"]' Microsoft VBScript runtime error 800A0005
Although my current french narrative reports are quite acceptable, I would love to be able to take advantage of the new themes which are now available in the latest english version. Is there anything I can do at my level of qualification?
Kind regards
Roland

I have made an attempt at bringing the French Config and Dictionary more up to date and results are attached but my French language is very weak and I relied heavily on Google Translate. Please make any recommendations for an improved translation!

Thank you for your prompt help. I tested your new french versions of Config.xml and Dictionary.xml merged into the Narrative Report 2011.07.23 (EN) skin. The Report Generator worked without any "Warnings" nor "Errors". One problem which occured is that the generator always uses the Default theme, in spite of the theme (one of the new ones) I selected in the "General Presentation" window. I also noticed that from one Report Generator run to the next, whereas all the other parameters remain unchanged, the Theme parameter systematically jumps back to "Default". Everything else seems to work, in particular the font style and size, the spacing between lines in case of superscript references, which confirms that I am indeed using the new Config. The wording in french does not include my personal changes, which confirms that I am also using the new Dictionary in these tests.
One more question if I may. The printer does not print the pages of this report or of previous versions beyond the first page and the format is not the same as the one which shows on "Print preview". In some cases, when I try to print other formats (such whole page on A1 paper via a PDF virtual printer), Internet Explorer aborts the printing process with an error message saying that there has been an error with the web page and jumps back to the Report. Can you reproduce this or is it a problem on my computer? As I saw a parameter on print width (184 mm) in the new Config, I thought I should ask.
Kind regards
Roland

I think the theme problem was because I forgot to delete the original StyleSheet param from Config.xml. I have updated the attachment with a revised version that should work OK.
I have not tested printing from IE as yet. Do you have the same problem with Firefox or Chrome? The print width param was an attempt to assist conversion to PDF via Acrobat Pro but is probably now superfluous. There may be issues printing the Frameset pages used by the report rather than simple pages. Update: I have successfully printed via IE9 to a physical printer (Samsung CLX 2160N laser) and also to a PDF printer (PrimoPDF).

The latest Config.xml you just uploaded works. I could generate a "GreenLeaf" report. Opening the report with Chrome allows me to print on my Deskjet printer and save a (A1) file on the PDF995 virtual printer. In Chrome, I can't collapse the left hand side Individuals index by clicking on the cross. So, printing on the Deskjet A4 printer leaves blank a right hand side margin wide about one quarter of the width of the page; it cuts off through the words, no real right hand side margin; printed width is about 132mm for whatever it is worth. The A1 PDF document looks almost OK, as the children pictures on the individual's page do not appear, just their frame, although they appear on the page on the screen. Now, looking at the A4 print-out (attached), it looks as if the line spacing recent correction did not work (please look for instance at the line starting with "diplôme" and the superscript "4", 6 printed lines from the bottom). I can now start toying with different font sizes and fine tune the Dictionary to my requirements and preferences. Thanks
Kind regards
Roland

Just saw that you were able to print successfully. So it must be at my end. I tried to print from a totally different computer, also with System 7 installed and IE complained also and stopped. Maybe it has to do with my IE9 security settings, or memory size (I am planning to upgrade next week to 4GB). For the Narrative Report skin version 2011.07.23 (FR), everything I need works now fine. I was able to merge your latest program changes into my modified 2011.1.16 (FR) Dictionary without breaking anything. I am pleased with the reports I can now produce.
Thank you for your efficient help. Kind regards
Roland
Update: I gave up trying to print with IE9 or Chrome. I installed Firefox and can now print pages with pictures from the Narrative Report generated by the 2011_07_23 (GreenLeaf) Skin without problems.
