Prośba o pomoc! Żeby uzyskać Polski Raport Narracyjny,poczyniłem następujące zapisy: - Na moim twardym dysku:
- Sklonowałem nowy folder i przemianowałem go: Genopro/Skins/ Customized POLISH Narrative Report
- Zmieniłem pliki Config.xml i Dictionary.xml na polską wersję
- W GenoPro 2011 Generatorze Reportów,
- Zmieniłem Skórkę raportu na: \Customized POLISH Narrative Report\* (Polski Raport Narracyjny) {PL}
- Wygenerowałem raport do publikacji w sieci, po czym otrzymałem odpowiedź, którą podaję poniżej i z którą nie wiem, co mam dalej zrobić.
Szukałem odpowiedzi na stronach niniejszegoForum. Moja wiedza w tej dziedzinie jest bardzo ograniczona, więc uprzejmieproszę o pomoc, w prostych słowach. The Polish Config.xml file as become out of date with changes to the skin. I have attached an amended Config.xml with missing entries replaced by English versions.
Google translate: Polska Config.xml jak stać się nieaktualne ze zmianami naskórze. Mam załączeniu zmieniony Config.xml z wpisami brakujezastąpione przez angielskie wersje.

Thank you for the prompt reply.Please indulge my obvious ignorance in these matters, for I am an amateur in computer phraseology. Do I understand from your answer (correctly or incorrectly) that the Polish Config .xml file, being now out of date, has reverted to the English version, and that Polish is no longer available? Or will the new Config.xml file as supplied by you will give me Polish Narrative Report? Computer file names and numbers, and how they work, are outside my field. I am patiently feeling my way around the (to me) complexities of the GenePro Family Tree, because I think it is an excellent product, which gives me most of what I want (I am confident that the missing bits on my wish list will come soon). The ability to produce a Polish language Narrative Report is central to my needs. |

Please use the original Polish Dictionary.xml with the revised Polish Config.xml file that I have supplied. The Narrative Report will be largely in Polish except for where new English entries are missing from the Polish version in which case they will be replaced by the English phrase. Warning messages will appear in the Report Log when a missing tag is encountered. If you can supply Polish translations for the missing tags please publish a revised Polish Dictionary here.
The amended Config.xml will also have some English content. Again you are most welcome to help with any translation of these entries.

Thank you, the Polish Narrative Report now works successfully.But another 3 related questions: (1) When I click on the  icon, which takes me to the page: "Need help getting started?" (which I am sure my Polish visitors would need), everything there is in the original English. At a pinch, I could write a summarised guide to the symbols and instructions how to navigate the pages in Polish, though an automatic translation of the instruction pages would be preferable. Do non-English speakers use Genopro? Wish I could paste the symbols to the Report Generator comments field as an aid to translating the guide, if necessary. [Note: though the instruction pages are not translated into Polish, I get the Polish language appearing at odd places, such as in this e-mail, in which the right-click mouse shows up in Polish (though not on all words) with some Polish word prompts.] (2) How can I generate two (or more) separate Narrative reports from the same Genogram (in this case a Polish Narrative Report & the other the English version), so that both stay separate on the website after I log out, without one cancelling out the other ? (as they do now after my attempts to generate the two reports on the same Destination Folder within the Report Generator) (3) You say that I can translate the untranslated tags & post them to this Forum. I would be willing to do this, but how to do it? Regards

776522 (27-Aug-2011)(3) You say that I can translate the untranslated tags & post them to this Forum. I would be willing to do this, but how to do it? Translation of a Report skin such as the Narrative Report involves changing the phrase templates in Dictionary.xml to the required language. XML file like Dictionary,xml can be edited with a simple text editor such as NotePad. Personally I prefer the freeware editor PsPad. You will need a reasonable understanding of the GenoPro Report Phrase Generator GenoPro itself has a ' Phrase Editor' (under Tools menu) that can load phrase templates from Dictionary.xml and test them and change the phrase to suit. Note that it does not provide a facility to update Dictionary.xml with an amended entry. However you can simply have your Dictionary.xml open in a text editor at the sdame time and copy and paste any amended phrase template to it. The Dictionary.xml phrase templates can optionally have a preceding comment entry that gives and explanation of the phrase, its arguments (or parameters) and optionally some test values for these arguments. Not all phase tempates in Dictionary.xml have such comments and those that do may in fact be out of date and hence incorrect! (e.g. PhBirth). As an example let us take the PhBurial phrase template. This appears in the Dictionary as <!-- V="2011.09.06±" 0=his|her, 1=disposition type, 2=disposition date, 3=disposition place, 4=he/she, 5=disposition type ID, 6=gender ID Test={0}=her, {1}=buried|cremated|body was entombed|, {2}= on 12 Mar 1970|, {3}= in the cemetery|, {4}=she, {5:1}=Burial|Cremation|Entombment|, {6}=F --> <PhBurial V="2.0.1.6±" T="{  }{\U}[[{?5=Burial}{!4} was][{!}[{?5=Cremation}{!4} was][{!}[{?!5}{!4} was][{!}{!0}]]]] {1!=buried}{2}{3h}." />

Here we can see the documentation of the list of arguments 0=his|her, 1=disposition type etc. and the test values Test={0}=her, {1}=buried|cremated|body was entombed etc. (Note that this phrase was out of date, I needed to change {5:1}=burial|cremation|entombment| to {5:1}=Burial|Cremation|Entombment| to reflect changes in GenoPro values) If we load this Phrase Template into the Phrase Editor using the 'Pick from Dictionary.xml' button (note that GenoPro loads the Dictionary.xml from the most recently used Report skin) we get:  You can then use the phrase editor to change the text and grammar in the phrase template to your required language and test. You can add or amend test values within the Phrase Editor as required. Once you are familiar with phrase templates you should be able to to translate all but the most complex phrases by directly editing Dictionary.xml by passing the Phrase Editor.
