Hi, I've just
purchased GenoPro
because I recognise certain potential to solve a problem with my current
tree
.
I have several cousin-cousin
marriages
and to establish the
links
I have had to go back several generations and come back down several branches. Occasionally, I cannot
find
the link so I have had to trawl all the same
surnames
in the area to try to find the elusive link.
This has led to a huge number of isolated
families
[islands]. When trying to extract a sutiable line from my known family, I am having difficulty in selecting the right candidates with the supplied selection tools. I have had to resort to selecting a few people at a time. I then review my choice and add more people to the new map.
My real problem is how to convince the program to recognise & link identical people on the new map. I have tried to overlay the new copies of people on their
place
in the larger family group but the program will not relink them on the new map. I have also tried the
internal hyperlink
but cannot get it to respond in the way I want.
I hope that my explanation is clear and that someone can
help
me.
