I am not fully convinced that the script is working as designed because the result (in this case the titles of the same set of pictures in different pages of the same report) looks different depending on location of the set of pictures and only upon activation of the browsing process: it always shows without picture name inserted, except when the set of pictures is placed as the last picture of a report page and only upon activation of the browsing process.

In case it helps, the "Picture Settings" of the report where this behavior showed were:

Show full picture information on Individual and Family pages:  yes
Hide picture title below picture:  yes
Use picture thumbnails:  yes
Use picture ID in place of picture title:  no
Show "Technical Details" of pictures:  no

I understand it is a minor cosmetic glitch in an ocean of well working code. Always removing the picture names in the picture titles would solve my problem. If you would need more reports to be generated using different parameter settings, please forward instructions.

Kind regards

Not sure if this is a bug or whether the script is working as designed.

I recall a debate on this forum some years back on whether or not to show the 'Picture Name' in the Narrative Report.  Looking at the coding for it now it would appear the handling is inconsistent.

It was originally intended that setting the option 'Show full picture information on Individual & Family pages' would include the Picture Name, whilst the option 'Hide picture title below picture' would control the separate display the the Picture Name as a title below the picture. The standard Dictionary phrases PhPictureDetails & PhPictureDetailsHtml support this mode.

I propose the change the code so that

1. 'Hide picture title below picture' will be renamed as 'Hide picture name'

2. If 'Hide picture name ' is set to Yes then the Picture Name is NEVER shown.

3. If 'Hide picture name ' is set to No and 'Show full picture information on Individual & Family pages' is set to Yes then the Picture Name will be included in the details as per existing Dictionary phrases but no separate title with the Picture Name will be displayed.

Another small bug in Narrative Report Skinversion 2012.09.08. It affects the way a group a picture is diplayed in a report page.

Let's look a the first picture of the following setof pictures:

Please look at Capture_glitch02 (I could not figure out how to insert the pictures!)

If this set of pictures is placed anywhere other than in the last picture position in a narrative report page, browsing from picture to picture works fine.

If the same set of picture is at the last picture position in a narrative report page, the first picture  (when the report page has just been generated) looks exactly the same as showed above. As soon as you start browsing from picture to picture, their captions change: their “picture name” (in this case ,‘Mariage_01’,) is inserted for all the pictures of the set as follows:

Please look at Capture_glitch03

This happens only with sets of pictures. A single picture is always displayed with a “clean caption” as expected (no picture name inserted) regardless of its location in the report page.

Kind regards

Roland Schaeffer
