It's a statistics counter for the entire familytrees.genopro.com, we use it as a monitor for abuse and improvement. As a free online service it's normal we monitor it, we use Google analytic because it's free and simple. We could monitor it from the http log anyway. It's not a breach of privacy as only us have access to those report.

I'd like to know why my family tree now contains Google Analytics code at the bottom of every page?

I can assure you that I have not added this and my local copy does not contain this code.

I would have expected my permission to be sought before this was added, or at the very least a warning.
