You can copy GenoPro views of the table format and import into a spreadsheet. However GenoPro has many linked views of the table eg Individual, Family, Place. This means it is not possible to reverse the process and import a spreadsheet as such.
One option I have tried is to export the spreadsheet as a txt file and use a program to create a gedcom. This can work as long as the data are compatible

You can also copy & paste from the Table Layout (Ctrl+T) into Excel.  Just right click on the column, and select Copy with Table Header which will copy the full table with the headers into the clipboard.

Since GenoPro file format is XML based, I'm thinking that it may just be possible to write an XML map to export your spreadsheet data in a GenoPro compatible XML format, depending on how your sheet is set up.

Do you have a reprsentative example Excel file?

GenoPro

I need help with file importing into GenoPro v.2011.  I am currently working on a project with on a group license of your software program.

Our test data is currently in the form of an Excel file.  Previously, we had to go through a data manipulation requiring the use of MyFamilyHeritageTree prior to importing into GenoPro.
Is there a fix for this issue that will allow for tab-delineated importation of data from an Excel xls or xlsx file format, or other file format that can be saved in Excel?

Your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated,

BREEDS Project
