This feature is not very accurate, however it helps us when doing support. For instance, if we notice the user has updated the latest version, we know there is no need to upgrade. On the other hand, if someone is still at version 1.6, then we will ask which version they have, knowing a specific bug may have been fixed in the meantime.
The solution Do a "Check for Update" from the Help menu of GenoPro. When you do a "Check for Update", GenoPro sends the version to the server GenoPro.com. The server GenoPro.com returns what changes were made since the version provided. We record in our database every "Check for Update" for statistical use, and if we are able, attach this version to a specific user in our database.

I think you misunderstood me. You just forgot to change the version nomber of the file "genopro.exe". It's not a real bug.

I believe that bk99 means that when you right-click on the genopro.exe file and select the Properties/Details, the version number shows 2.5.4.0 whereas the release notes and product info mention 2.5.4.1
