I just tested the Narrative Report skin version 2013_08_02 used without any changes, just unzipped. The results are:
The Parameter Configuration Settings procedure came up. I used the following options: - in Content: Suppress family details on Individual Pages...unchecked (I assume family details will show on Individual pages) Add link to "Descendant Tree Chart" as icon... checked (I assume icon will show) In Presentation: Initially display any notes in "collapsed view"...unchecked (I assume notes display in exploded view) Initially display subsections & references in "collapsed view"...unchecked (same as above)
Click on OK to start the Report generation which produces this log:

The Report comes up with the following characteristics:
The Individual pages display: In-line picture, birth, parents, brothers and sisters, death, Birth Notes (not collapsed, no indentation for 1st line), Death Notes (not collapsed, no indentation), General Notes (not collapsed, no indentation), Whereabouts and Occupancy Notes not collapsed, no indentation). This is where the Individual pages stop No Occupation Details, no Occupation Notes, no Footnotes (with sources) No Descendant Tree Chart icon
The Pictures album is displayed right
The Family pages are displayed separately (not appended to the Individuals pages) with their in-line pictures and their Footnotes
Kind regards

Unfortunately at present I cannot reproduce the issue you are having Roland.
It would appear that your pages for individuals are being truncated for some reason. Is there any closing </body></html> tags at the end of the files? With the Descendant Tree Chart icon, this will only appear for individuals who have the custom tag DEscendantTreeChart set to say Y. My presumption is that users will not want tree charts for every individual, only key ancestors. So you need to use the GenoPro Tools/Tag Editor to create the tag and then set its value to Y for those people you wish to have the link. Then run the Narrative Report generator followed by the Descrecendant Tree Chart report generator.

Sorry Ron for my remark about the missing Descendants Tree Chart icon. I did not read carefully enough your release notes.
On the truncated "Individual" reports:
The "Family" files generated with Narrative Report skin version 2013_08_02 end with:
</body> </html>
The "Individual" files end after the "General Notes" paragraph and before the "Occupations" paragraph with:
</ul> </li> </ul>
I confirm that the same genogram used with the Narrative Report skin version 2013_04_28 works well and generates a report with the expected complete "Individual" pages. For instance, the same "Individual" file as above shows the following code at the same place as above:
</li> </ul> </li> </ul>
<div class='clearleft'><br /><ul class='xT'> <li class='xT2-o xT-h' onclick='xTclk(event,"2")'> <a name='Occupation'></a><h3 class='xT-i inline'>Parcours professionnel</h3><ul class='xT-h'><li> <a name='occu00051'></a><div class='clearleft'> etc....
Kind regards
Roland

Ok so for some unknown reason the template script Individual.htm is aborting without raising error,
Perhaps it would help to know if the problem is due to your environment or your data. Could you test the skin against the HarryPotter.gno sample and see it still fails? If it does not fail then it is probably related in some way to your data.

Following your advice, I checked the Narrative Report skin 2013_08_02 against the Harry Potter genogram. The results I obtained were consistent with what I obtain with my own genograms. i.e.:
The "Individuals" reports generated with Narrative Report skin 2013_04_28 (even using my custom version of Dictionary.xml based on Dictionary.xml version 2011.1.16) are generated as expected including: Individual birth, parents, grand parents, brothers and sisters, death Education Details Occupation Details Whereabouts Family and their associated "Notes" Footnotes (please see Harry Potter appended Capture_2013_04_28.jpg)
These "Individual" report pages end with : </body> </html>
The "Individual" reports generated with Narrative Report skin 2013_08_02 are generated truncated including only: Individual birth, parents, grand parents, brothers and sisters, death Education Details Whereabouts and their associated "Notes" (please see Harry Potter appended Capture_2013_08_02.jpg) No Occupation Details, no Family, no Footnotes, although their superscripted reference numbers appear in the text.
These "Individual report pages end with: </li></ul></li></ul></div>
or </ul> </li> </ul>
or just with the end of their text ( no </ul> </li> )
Yet, their "Family" reports can be accessed separately by clicking the "families" block in the "Individual" reports header. And these "Family" pages seems to be complete (not truncated) as they have their Footnotes! And these "Family" pages end with: </body> </html>
I would be pleased to run more tests as directed. Kind regards
Roland

Just wondering if you have turned off Timelines in your Config Params?
If I turn them off then an error is generated at about the point your pages are truncated. Any chance you have some sort of script debugger installed that is trapping the error and ignoring it? Clutching at straws maybe but I need to fix the timeline problem anyway.

You sure were clutching at the right straw! In my previous tests, in my Config Params, I had indeed "Display MIT Simile timelines for Individuals, families & genomaps?" unchecked. I checked it and it almost all fell into place. My Narrative Report is now generated as expected. But I don't have any script debugger installed that is trapping the error and ignoring it. Also, the timeline frame is sometimes empty or some events are missing (such as death) for some individuals and filled properly for others.
Narrative Report skin version 2013_08_05 works well for me even with "Timeline" unchecked in my Config Params and there is apparently no bug left in the timeline frame neither with "Timeline" checked.
P.S.: Small glitch: in the Family paragraph (in the Individual page and in the Family page), the title (names of the spouses) disappeared although the icons are still there on the title line.
Thank you for your help. Kind regards
Roland

I'll look into that. Must have accidentally deleted something somewhere.
Update: now fixed in 2013.08.07. Hope that is the last of the wrinkles ironed out!
By the way, almost didn't see your amendment. Unfortunately this forum doesn't flag amended posts in its 'recent posts' list. So here's what I do (only works if yours is the last post)
Copy the contents of your post then delete the post. Create a new reply and paste in your copied text and then add your amendments. This then makes it a new post and shows up as such in recent posts etc.

Following successful tests, I confirm that Narrative Report skin version 2013.08.07 works according to specs when tested against my database. This is great and I like the result. Thank you also for your advice on how to show amended posts as recent unread posts.
Off topic digression:
With my custom Dictionary.xml getting old, more warnings appear during the report generation process, mostly due, I guess, to new tags called for by new updated versions of Config.xml with no counterparts in my Dictionary.xml. Also one error message:
Error in FormatPhrase - Not enough arguments for template 'Report Language code '{0}' Dictionary version '{1}''. Argument index {10002} is out of range. Before I start the project of merging all my changes into the current Dictionary.xml version 2013.08.07, a task which takes time and carries a non-negligeable risk of mistakes and errors, could you please let me know if this is a good time for me to go through that merging exercise now or if a new skin version with some major structural and operational changes in the Config.xml and Dictionary.xml is expected soon. Kind regards Roland

I think the error message is because your <Dictionary> tag in Dictionary.xml does not have a 'Version' attribute. I'll substitute '??' in future. I have nothing further planned for the Narrative Report at present (but see below) so I think yes it is a good time to update your Dictionary. Most if not all (I may have overlooked some) of the recent changes are tagged with a V="2013.07.30" attribute and hence are easily identified. I do hope you will make your revised French Dictionary available to all. I am toying with the idea of adding all available translations of Dictionary.xml to the skin and having a mechanism to copy the required Dictionary from Code\local to Dictionary.xml in skin's base folder.
