Hi there
I'm trying to open an existing GenoPro file but am receiving the following message: "Cannot import text file because its format is unknown to GenoPro. Please supply a valid XML or Gedcom file." I have been working in this document and opening it no problem for days. I am devastated because it was almost finished, and is due for submission in the next few days. Is there any chance the file can be recovered?

Are you sure it's a GenoPro file? They end up with .gno and have the GenoPro icon normally.

Feel free to send your .gno file to support at genopro dot com and we will investigate. In 90% of the cases, the .gno file contains only zeroes (blank) which means the storage (typically a USB thumb drive, of flash card) got erased (typically from a magnectic device, or went to the laundry). The remaining 10% of the cases is the .gno file is from another genealogy software from Germany.
