Hi there

I'm trying to open an existing GenoPro file but am receiving the following message:

"Cannot import text file because its format is unknown to GenoPro.  Please supply a valid XML or Gedcom file."

I have been working in this document and opening it no problem for days.  I am devastated because it was almost finished, and is due for submission in the next few days.

Is there any chance the file can be recovered?

I tried finding xml, or html or ged files, but there are none on my computer, where is the problem, what files are generated when you save a .gno file that would enable me to recover my data ? I have no backups whatsoever.

Please give me a solution, I have been working for weeks on my family tree, I don't want to start everything over

Thanks
APB

Is the file a .gno file? If so, it might be corrupted, sometimes we can recover it; try to send it to support@genopro.com with some details.

If it's not a .gno file, what make you believe this is your file; use the "find" from "file" menu that will search your computer for GenoPro.

Another reminder, GenoPro offer free backup for everyone because your work is very important.
