How do I get my families not to overlap so I can carry on with a bigger tree and add more names.

I assume you are letting Genopro position the individuals (so called auto arrange).  As a GenoMap grows it becomes necessary to manually arrange the individuals and families.  You can also split the tree over several genomaps using hyperlinks.  Another useful technique is to arrange small sections of the tree by selecting the required section and using the 'AutoArrange selection' tool
