Hi,
I created a family consisting of one husband (H1) and two partners (W1 and W2).

I then realized that W2 was actually married to a different person and that the drawing should have been like below.

Question: Is there a simple way to "split" the original family and to assign a new husband?

If you click the link between W1 & W2 it is selected and can be deleted. Then add mate to W2. Presume you do not want to loose data in W2

Yes, but then I loose the marriage data and need to reconnect all the kids and sub structures one by one. Note that I used a simplified drawing just to explain the basic problem.
So I'm afraid I will have to redo most of it by hand. An option would be to dive into the XML and edit the raw data but I was wondering if there were no undocumented short keys.

If the families are set up so that there is a separate family line for W1 and W2 and H1 is linked as a parent to both families, then the 'link as parent' of H1 to the W2 family can be deleted without the family information being lost. H2 can then be connected to the W2 family line.
