I have just
installed
Genpro on my PC running Windows 8.1 and also on my new Windows tablet running Windows 8.1. I
started
my
tree
on a trial version several
years
ago. How can I make this tree show up when I start the newly installed program rather than go searching in My Documents and open it from there. Do I have to import it somehow? I want to be able to work on a mirror
image
on the tablet when I am away from the PC in the evenings without having to transfer the
info
twice. Is this possible?
Thanks

It depends on which version of GenoPro you have. On the later versions, from the File menu, click
Find
and it will locate all of your GenoPro files on the PC. After that click 'File' on the main menu and you see a list of recent files.
Windows tablet. Hope this is full 8.1 as earlier tablet versions ran Windows RT which probably will not run GenoPro - although this may have changed. If your tablet has the program then the simplest way to make sure you are always using the latest data set on any machine is to always save externally. Memory stick is one
option
but better to save completely externally, which also avoids problems of data loss - hard disc crash etc.
If you have
purchased
a license the best way is to save to the GenoPro site, which you can do from inside the program. From the main menu open the File sub menu and click '
Online Backup
... Follow instructions. ' You can of course retrieve the file in a similar manner.
Slightly less convenient is to use an online backup service. I use DriveHQ, which is free for small personal use. Dropbox is another popular option

You need to
place
your .gno file in a common storage area accessible by both machines. You could use GenoPro's Online Backup. Click File / Online Backup to copy your .gno to the genopro server and File / Open
InBox
and Online Backups to open your .gno from that server. You could also use Cloud storage synchronised to folders on each PC. e.g. Microsofts OneDrive is good and free
