I have tried to remove my old legend and create a new one so the emotional relationship of controlling show up. I have even tried to create a label and copy and paste the relationship in the box but that does not work. The system keeps refusing to allow me to copy and paste these relationships like you said it would do. What should I do now??

You can not copy a relationship on its own, you must also copy the individual each end, and the text too if required. After copying you can make the individuals invisible by bringing up their properties and under the Display tab, untick the 'display Gender Symbol box.

You can select multiple items by holding down the left mouse button just outside the required selection and dragging a box around the required items.
