Something that would be very nice to see in GenoProX is a way to indicate that a person uses a middle name as their common familiar name. I have a cousin and a friend who use their second names, and there have been others in my family in recent past generations who have done the same.

Using the Nickname field is an option, but it seems redundant to repeat the name. Ideally, there would be a checkbox indicating "uses middle name" that, when checked, causes the middle name to display in bold. This becomes a problem if the person has more than one middle name, but I have always been in favour of having two middle name fields in the first place.

If anyone else has thoughts on this, including alternate ways to implement it, please share them. I am quite certain that there are always better ways to do something than the first method I think of; this has come from years of practical experience. BigGrin
