Generate Report>Destination Folder=genopro://+genopro@gmail.com:@familytrees.genopro.com Generate> New Window>Narrative Report> Generate. It cooks then shows Page Not Found or Moved.

Report skin = EN Narrative
Options>Output Files>Resumereport=Unchecked

I've read all the responses to a Page Not Found Query. As best I can figure, I've got all the correct boxes unchecked, hit all the correct buttons, but still get a dead end.

I need your guidance.

Is this it http://familytrees.genopro.com/Raphael%20Carrozza/  ?

The space in your usename may have confused GenoPro when attempting to open the report

Also there is a later skin available if you update your GenoPro 2016 to 3.0.0.8

Thank you for your prompt response.

I have updated to 3.0.0.8. I added some data, saved and generated report. Same result "Page not found"

Now the report you posted was the last one I did. So, I am confused why the space between Raphael and Carrozza is causing the problem. Be that as it may be, I can not find a place to correct/edit the name to remove the space.

The same link in my previous post shows your newly updated report, generated today 19/9/2016. If you still see the old one then try clearing your browser cache.

It appears you have two GenoPro accounts, one with a space in the name, which you use when Generating reports, and one without the space, used when logging on to this forum. (emails differ by +genopro)  So the report is still updated, it is just that GenoPro doesn't format the URL correctly to access it.

Suggest you use the account without the space when generating a report to avoid this issue or use the URL from my post to access it.

Sorry to be so dense.

I use a password manager to keep track of sites and passwords. I only have one username and password in that manager for GenoPro. That is for the forum. In all likelihood, I entered a username when I first ordered GenoPro. I don't recall ever having to use it again. It seems I can get what I want by using the license key.

I do not launch GenoPro, the site, to make revisions to the family tree. I just open my GenoPro report, make revisions and then generate a report.

Clearly, as you point out, the report is created. However, I only get the "Page not found". Therefore I assume the latest saved tree does not exist.

How can I delete the space in Raphael Carrozza tree so it reads RaphaelCarrozza as you feel this is causing the problem?

Ok, Let me try again to explain.

Firstly, there seems to be bug in the Narrative Report script that prevents it opening the generated report in your default browser if the path (or URL) contains spaces. I will try and fix this however I able unable to reproduce this bug on my system.  If fact all my browsers seem to accept spaces in a URL and automatically encode them to %20 as required by the HTTP URL rules.

In this case 'Page not found or moved' does not mean that the report has not been generated successfully but just that the wrong URL has been used to try and access it. It has been created and can be accessed from a browser as usual as I have already shown you by providing the correct URL link to your report.

Please also note that generating a report does not 'save' any changes to your family tree, it merely provides a report on the contents at that time. The data in your 'tree' , the ,gno file, is only saved when you use one the GenoPro Menu items File/Save, File/Save As or File/OnlineBackup, the latter saving a copy to your account on GenoPro's servers.

Regarding your question on how to remove the space from your report path, as I have said your appear to have two GenoPro accounts, one with a username Raphael Carrozza, i.e. with a space, and a gmail address with a '+genopro' suffix is linked to your registration key and being used to generate reports, another RaphaelCarrozza with the same email but without the suffix that you are using to log into the forum.

To resolve this I suggest you go to your GenoPro account profile for user RaphaelCarrozza (either my clicking 'My Profile' in the the header of this forum page and then clicking the 'GenoPro' tab' or by going directly to http://collaboration.genopro.com/Account.aspx). There you can change the username from RaphaelCarrozza  to say RaphaelCarrozza1, Then go to the profile of your other user by first logging out of the RaphaelCarrozza/RaphaelCarrozza1 user and logging back in (at http://collaboration.genopro.com/Account.aspx) as Raphael Carrozza by using the email with the +genopro suffix. You can then change this username from Raphael Carrozza  to RaphaelCarrozza but first scroll down to 'Online Publications' and delete the existing report(s) as once you change the name you will not be able to manage existing reports.  After changing the username you will need to regenerate the report.

Note that to gmail.com the two email addresses are the same hence have the same password but I think GenoPro sees them as two distinct addresses.

I'm back. My PC died and I purchased a new one. I opened my family tree file with a name including the date I saved the file (07222017)
I took that file and updated several births, deaths, and marriages. I save the file with a new date in the name to 11242017. I generated the report.
When the generator is finished cooking, the web page report launches automatically. It uses the link shown above in the URL Omni box. The new web-based GenoPro Family Tree includes all the updates.

When I enter that same link above in my Chromebook the report shown does not include all the recent updates. No certain where it is getting the file because it is not the 07222017 and it clearly is not the 11242017 file.

In your original reply to this thread last year, you indicated that link above would deliver the most recent report. It doesn't and I don't know how to get it to work.

Any ideas?

If your ChromeBook is not showing the latest report that can be viewed from your PC it suggests that your ChromeBook has retained older pages in its cache.

Have you tried clearing the browser cache on your ChromeBook to see if that fixes this issue?

Note that the last line of the Home page for the report shows the date it was generated.

You are a genius. The nasty cache was the problem. Thank you!
