Hi there,
I want to
report
two bugs regarding the 'special symbols' (immigration, multi culture) in
Genomap
2016:
1. All special symbols on all genomaps are transfered to the first genomap on re-opening a saved document.
2. The symbols for 'immigration' and 'multi-culture' are incorrect (swapped icon).
ad 1.)
Steps for recreating the bug:
- Open a new document
- Change to Genomap2,
place
a apecial symbol anywhere
- Save the document
- Close and reopen it
- The special symbol is not on Genomap2 anymore, instead it is on Genomap1
New document:
On GenoMap2, place one of the special symbols:
Close and reopen it:
Cause of the bug:
By looking into the xml data saved as *.gno file and searching for the special symbol settings
<SpecialSymbols>
<SpecialSymbol ID="SpecialSymbol00001" Symbol="Immigration"
Color
="#000000">
<Position z="170">835,-470</Position>
</SpecialSymbol>
[...]
it became clear why all the special symbols are switched to the first genomap of the document:
Only the coordinates of the position of the special symbols are saved, but not the name of the genomap itself.
ad 2.)
According to The MultiCultural
Family
Institute (see
http://stanfield.pbworks.com/f/explaining_genograms.pdf
) and/or based on the symbols in the book "Genograms: Assessment and Intervention", the symbol for immigration is the double wave, the symbol for living in multi-cultures is a single wave.
This is exactly the other way round as it is implemented in GenoPro!
Correctly, it would be:
Regards
Jochen

Yes, I can confirm the fix -- the special symbols now remain on their intended genomaps.
Many thanks for the registration key and for the fast bug fixing!
Regards
Jochen
