Hi,
I am wondering if there is a way of creating a stripped down
GEDCom file
with Name,
Birth
&
Death Dates
only?
I note there was a posting in 2006 that asked this question and the response was that this facility would be coming...

There is no easy way of doing this.
About
a decade ago, we tried a feature to strip down some data for the
report generator
and it was too complicated to use. Our best users were finding the feature difficult to use and understand.
What you can do however is use the
Table Layout
(Ctrl+T) and delete the columns you do not want to be exported into Gedcom. I would recommend saving your
family tree
with a different .gno file before doing this, just in case you hit the Save button or press Ctrl+S which would result in saving your family tree with stripped down data.
To erase a column, right click on the top cell of the column you want to erase and select the menu item
Erase Column
. Repeat for all columns (fields) you want to remove from your Gedcom file, and then export to Gedcom.

It should also be possible to do this by carrying out a hatchet
job
on the javascript file, gedcom.js, that produces a Gedcom Export via the Report Generator, to produce a tailored version of the skin.
Would just need to delete/comment out the bits you don't want. I presume you would want to keep gender and
family
details also? and possibly
marriage dates
?
