version 3.0.1.3
standard English Narrative Report
standard config parameters (defaults)

If I select the defaults profile in the "Narrative Report - Parameter Settings" and I select "skin 1", I get the following layout at the top of the screen:

If now I only change the skin selection and choose "skin 2", I get the following:

You will notice that with "skin 1" the "pictures" entry is missing from the menu.
I did not touch any other parameter, only changed the skin.
All options in the "parameter settings / pictures" tab are identical for "skin 1" and "skin 2".

I would presume that the change of skin does not influence the number of menu items but only the presentation.  Am I wrong?

No you are not wrong Nand, there is an inconsistency there.

It was my intention that the picture gallery could only be included if thumbnails were enabled, as very few users bother to resize their pictures before uploading and so without thumbnails the picture gallery could be huge.  But it looks like I didn't finish the scripting for this to happen. The 'ShowGallery' option is selected under the thumbnails tab, but there is no check to ensure thumbnails are enabled and furthermore ShowGallery is only tested for the icon menu and not the text menu.

So a little bit of tidying is required.  But for now you can recover the picture icon by enabling the Show Gallery setting under the thumbnails tab.

I just used skins 1 and 2 as an example and also to reduce my testing range.

But, still on the same (hypothetical) question, how can I - using skin 2 - remove the "pictures" entry from the text menu?

Looks as if we need a two-level approach where level 1 would consist of the selection of the menu entries that we want and level 2 the selection of detail settings related to the selected menu entries.  But I do not know if it make sense to further invest in this piece of code.  Up to development to decide.

Having looked at the scripts rather that relying on memory (not a good idea) I have made some changes in the update Updates to Report Skins for GenoPro 2016 / 2018 to make things work more logically.

The Show Pictures in the Report toggle under Pictures Config Param tab controls whether or not the Pictures icon (or text menu equivalent) appears in the heading and whether or the Picture Index is produced together with a page for each Picture.

Show Gallery under Thumbnails tab if set will, provided Create Thumbnails is also set, create a  page with all pictures (i.e. the gallery) and put a link to it at the bottom of the Pictures index page.
