In my experience the generated
report
on the genopro website only looks good when using Internet Explorer (according to Microsoft IE is NOT a browser
). In Firefox it looks reasonably well, although is also get
errors
. In Google Chrome I only see errors (

Well, the
narrative report
still uses framesets, which is a clear indication of an old website.
I should probably point out to Genome that "The <frame> tag is not supported in HTML5."
I, personally, don't understand why we're not using SQL more, instead of generating thousands of static files. However, the SQL generator needs massive work.

Yep I'm well aware of the issues of framesets, even before HTML5. I've had to make many tweaks to overcome 'same origin' issues for example.
I
started
developing the Narrative report as part of a
genealogy
hobby some 15
years
ago when I retired from
full time
employment. I am now 68 years old and far too long in the tooth to start re-developing the Narrative Report.
I have however tried my best to keep it error free.
Updates
are posted on this forum but are difficult to
find
. Occasionally I
send
an update to Dan at GenoPro for inclusion in any maintenance release of GenoPro. An
update for GenoPro
is overdue bu
t I am not aware of any outstanding issues that have not been resolved on this forum.
I did produce an alternative,
GenoTab
, a while back in anticipation of GenoProX but since GenoProX is not within sight you are able to convert your existing .gno files and use GenoTab to view your data.
GenoTab is essentially one HTML file and generates all 'pages' on the fly from the JSON formatted data.
Therefore my recommendation is to try GenoTab.
