We current have GenoPro (version 3.0.1.2)
installed
in an Enterprise environment, but are running into issues when installing the application, with details from the team that manage our software installations below:
"The program is installed during OS deployment but does some per user install using the .msi. SOE set the content to persist in the SCCM cache, but if the cache is cleared by anyone it will not be there and it will need to be manually copied over. If a computer didnt have that content in its cache before that change it would also experience the issue.
Content is only cached when installed and unfortunately the software is considered installed on all computers, it just does this per user thing. The .msi using it's run from
location
to
reference
to install later is some poor software design, it really needs to copy itself over to C:\Windows\Installer as part of the install and have future
lookups
go to that directory.
We can't just manually copy via group policy or script either as SCCM won't have record of that folder name being in use and try to use it when
downloading software
."
I could only
find
1 similar post to this
here
, however it seems to have gone unanswered since 2016 so I'm hoping this repost might get some traction.
To mitigate the issues above, can we confirm as to whether future versions of the install keep the original package source files secure and available to users (as per
Microsoft best practices
), if not can it be made a suggestions for further updates
Thanks!

Thank you for reporting this issue. Our installer has been used since the Windows 95 era, and during all this time this issue has been reported twice, with thousands of installs on a daily basis, so we have not given this much priority. However we do apologize for the inconvenience it has caused to you and your team. Again, thank you for letting us know and your suggestion. We will definitely take it into account for future
updates
.

Thanks for the reply!
Do you know if there is any solution that we may be able to implement in the meantime?
