Hello Everyone
Firstly let me say I use tech but have no technical knwhow to be able to do what I want, so hopefully you good folks her can
help
me please.
My
family tree
is hosted here
https://familytrees.genopro.com/Duggleby/
and I am happy with how it except for 2 things on the home page
I would like to get rid of the "most popular family names" and the names and numbers in brackets below this.
And
I would like to get rid of the "most popular places" , the names and numbers in brackets and the globe and link shown below this.
Because this is no where near accurate, obviously due to me not inputting data correctly on my genomaps!!
I have 8500 folks on my genomaps so am really hoping I do not have to change each one. I am an old lady and not sure I have enough years left to be able to do that.
I have attached a snippet of the page with the items in yellow boxes I would like to get ris of.
thank you
Ellen

Perhaps the most straight-forward way for a 'non-techie' is to replace the generated web
page
with an edited version that excludes the detail that is not required.
In this case you need to edit the file home.htm generated as part of the
Narrative Report
. you can obtain this file by viewing your
report
on familytrees using the Chrome browser, then by first right-clicking on the home page of your report and then selecting 'View Frame
Source
'. This will open a new browser tab showing the html source if the frame. Select all text on this new page by pressing Ctrl & A keys together then copy this text by pressing Ctrl & C together.
Then open the Notepad app on your PC and paste the contents from the web page by pressing Ctrl & V keys together. Now delete the unwanted lines of html from the file. These are lines 33 to 44 inclusive. Save the Notepad file as say home.htm.
However, to save you having to do the above, I have attached an already edited version of your home.htm file to this post, so you can just
download
that file instead.
Next you need to replace the home.htm file on familytrees with this edited version. To do this you will need todownload and run GenoPro's
FTP Client
that can be found on this web page:
https://genopro.com/help/ftp-client/
and the instructions for use are given on that page.
'lego audio video erro ergo disco'

"

Sorry i am so late in thanking you for this reply.
I have been a bit poorly and this is the first day I have felt able to do anything other than sleep!
Thank you
Ell
