I have quite a few word documents and a few PDF files I would like to insert into my trees somehow. For example I have a 19 page document which is a dated list of all the references to the Duggleby name prior to 1600. It is proving difficult to attribute most of the references to individuals so I wondered if I could insert the file so it could be opened and read by anyone viewing the family tree? Alternatively without having to try to attribute each reference as a source to an individual could I insert a link to a folder where all of these files and references are on a blank tree? thank you Ellen Edited: Thursday, February 9, 2023 by Duggleby

I will then do as you suggest and make "Dummy individuals" but call them the name of the PDF file and attach the pdf as a source. thank you again for your invaluable help. Ellen

But still think it is better to link to the document via an 'External Hyperlink' Only one click is then required to open the document whereas linking via a source requires 3 clicks I think.
