Hello Everyone.
I have quite a few word documents and a few PDF files I would like to insert into my
trees
somehow.
For example I have a 19
page
document which is a dated list of all the
references
to the Duggleby name prior to 1600. It is proving difficult to attribute most of the references to
individuals
so I wondered if I could insert the file so it could be opened and read by anyone viewing the
family tree
?
Alternatively without having to try to attribute each reference as a source to an individual could I insert a
link
to a folder where all of these files and references are on a blank tree?
thank you
Ellen

Hello
I am combining as many of the documents &
photos
as I can into as few PDF docs as possible.
I will then do as you suggest and make "Dummy individuals" but call them the name of the PDF file and attach the pdf as a source.
thank you again for your invaluable
help
.

Yes I assumed you would name the same as the files. But still think it is better to link to the document via an '
External Hyperlink
'
Only one click is then required to open the document whereas linking via a source requires 3 clicks I think.
