I am creating a family where there is no second parent. When I create it it
auto
-populates a new unknown parent and then I delete it (simple enough). The problem rises when I add or move children. The lineage line (i don't know what its actually called, but its the grey horizontal line between parent and child that
links
all the children together) will always try to be two blocks to the right of the parent (as though the second parent is still there. No matter how many times I move it, if i adjust any child or move anyone anywhere it recorrects itself. How do I get the
tree
to STOP auto-formatting itself (without going into code or anything). Can I turn off ALL auto-formatting?

Sorry
about
the late reply but I have only just (re)joined this forum after many
years
.
I suggest that there are always 2 parents, even if they are considered completely separate or the child is created via whatever process. Hence I suggest that the easiest way to depict this situation is to include the second parent in the diagram but without any details, or just a few comments. Then you should
find
that your alignment problem will no longer exist.
