Hi GenoPro Team,
My name is Anna, and I’ve been using GenoPro for the past five months. I’ve been working on a long-term project that maps out the genealogical and relational history of a multi-generational family across several continents. The family includes adoptions, non-binary individuals, polyamorous relationships, and some culturally specific kinship terms not currently represented in standard genealogy symbols.
GenoPro has been a fantastic tool so far - the interface is intuitive, and the ability to visually represent relationships is incredibly helpful. However, I’ve found that the current symbol set can be limiting when dealing with modern and non-traditional family structures.
I would love to see a feature that allows users to:
  • Create and assign custom relationship symbols (e.g., for polycules, guardianship, foster relationships).
  • Customize gender representations beyond the binary male/female.
  • Label symbols with short tags or hover descriptions (ideal for culturally unique roles like “kaka” or “co-mother”).
  • Add colors or patterns to represent different family branches or dynamics.
This would be especially helpful for users doing academic or anthropological work, or those mapping out community-based networks, not just direct bloodlines.
Thank you again for an excellent tool - I’m excited to keep building with GenoPro and hope to see even more flexibility in future versions!
Warm regards,
Anna
