Hello,

You may want to first identify exactly which GenoPro version and license were originally installed, since the installer and licensing method can vary between versions. If the original installer was bundled with the license, GenoPro support should be able to advise whether a replacement installer can be provided for that specific license.

Regarding the data, I would check the server for the actual GenoPro .gno files rather than assuming there is a separate GenoPro database. GenoPro family trees are generally stored as files, so locating and backing up those files should be the priority before decommissioning the server.

If the goal is to move the files to SharePoint, that may be possible for document storage, but I would verify with GenoPro support whether the version you are using supports working directly from a SharePoint-synchronized location. I would avoid moving or modifying the original files until you have a verified backup.

It would help if you could provide the GenoPro version, operating system of the old server, and the type of license you have. That information should make it easier for someone here to recommend the correct migration procedure.

I work for an MSP that previously set up GenoPro a long time ago. We are now decomissioning the server where the installer was located and I am looking for a assistance getting a new installer as the old one came bundled with the license. I am also wondering if there is a database that was placed on the server for GenoPro? if so that would need to be migrated, would it be possible to move it to Sharepoint?
