I'd like the web site to act as a distributor of my most recent up-to-date
family tree
. When someone views the site and opens the FamilyTree.gno file, a copy is placed on their computer but this does not
include all of the pictures
. How can this be accomplished so that everyone gets the most recent version?

Your suggestion is similar to post
Pack it with pictures!
As you are probably aware, the report generator does automatically copy the .gno file and all the pictures on the web server.
One idea I have been thinking is to use the internet as "web storage" for family trees. The pictures would be uploaded to a web server, and each picture would be automatically downloaded to the local disk when the user views the picture for the first time. The next time the user wants to view the same picture, GenoPro would use the picture from the local disk without downloading again.
This will offer many benefits, such as allowing the .gno file to change without having to update all the pictures. Distributing the family tree would be as easy as sending a link to relatives, and the picture album would grow incrementally as the user visits more of the family tree.
Such a feature would not be too hard to implement, since the report generator is already capable to generate a repository for pictures, and GenoPro can download & cache pictures. Surely, this feature will be in v3.0 with the multi-user editing.
