You must right-click the GenoMap TAB not the GenoMap itself.

Yes I do have beta,

there is no change name that I can see when I right click on a map as in below the right click menu is shown

And if I fo to file propertiss and get a list of geomaps, right clicking on one does not show a name change option there either

You're talking about GenoMaps so you must have used GenoPro Beta, and not viewing them is caracteristical for GenoPro v1.x (1.91, or maybe 1.99) lookup under Help -> about what is the version you're talking about.

GenoMaps are available ONLY with beta!

GenoPro v1.x AND Beta can be present at the same time on same computer, you might be opening different program from ocasion to ocasion...

... there is quite a few of them in my file index

Have you been using GenoPro 1.x along with the Beta?  GenoPro 1.x does not support hyperlinks, and if you do a "Save As" over an existing .gno file, you will loose the hyperlinks in the .gno file you are overwriting.  You have to locate the last .gno file you have edited using the Beta.

What is the xml file?

Genopro save your data in the old version xxx.v1x.gno, in the new format xxx.gno AND in the xml format.

All your information must be in this file and you can edit it. (be carrefull with the changes BigGrinSmile

So you must consider to open the XML file and it is possible that all are ok....
