PHOTOS of my ancestors are found on my blog at http://alliswatsonancestors.wordpress.com/ (The photos were too large to upload onto my genopro family trees). Please contact me if you have any more photos.I'm Amelia Allis from New Zealand & this is a webpage for my family trees. Please contact me if anything is incorrect or you have any other information or photos.
My ALLIS ancestors are from the Netherlands (Amsterdam). My other ancestors are from England: my SCURR ancestors are from Durham, & most of my other ancestors are from Yorkshire (PEARSON, WATSON, WALKER).
My great-grandparents surnames are WATSON + SENIOR PEARSON + WALKER SCURR + FORSTER ALLIS + BOUMAN.
Please contact me if anything is incorrect or if you have more info or photos. Cheers.
RESOURCES I HAVE USED IN RESEARCHING MY ANCESTORS:
1. Walker family tree = CLARINGBURN = I have a copy of the trial documents from Edward Claringburn's church trial (kindly sent to me by Judith Armstrong who has done a lot of research on the Claringburn's). In this C16th trial the church removed Edward's title of Vicar due to adultery. The documents have witnesses statements, and Edward's responses to his accusations. [Please contact me if you are interested in seeing these documents].
2. Walker family tree = COLLYER = www.geoffsgenealogy.co.uk/collyer - extensive information about the authors/translators Mary Michell and husband Joseph Collyer. Also search Wikipedia for "Mary Collyer" and her son "Joseph Collyer".
3. Allis family tree = my research on my ALLIS ancestors has been helped a lot by Dutch ancestor researcher, Rangeeni Franssen. ALLIS is an English name (not Dutch) (it comes from the female name 'Alice'), but my Allis ancestors have lived in the Netherlans since at least the 1820s.This researcher has offered to find out more if someone is interested. It is possible that my ancestors' surname 'Allis' was originally "Alles" (which is a Dutch surname), and was misspelt somewhere along the line.
4. Scurr family tree = www.wanlessweb.org has a lot of information on the Wanless ancestors in my Scurr tree.
GENERAL WEBSITES = places that helped me construct my family tree: familysearch.com (the free Mormon website). Members of Rootsweb.com and cousinsconnect.com (doing census lookups for me). My grandparents and great-grandmother (Phyllis Walker), as well as from other relatives researching our family.
