i asked this before but ill be darned if i cant find it.

is there a simple way to output all your surnames to a list ( something like a simple text file) so i can compare and post it on a few other forums.

The report generator can create a text file with all the unique surnames.

There are two other alternatives.

In the properties if the individual, right-click on the surname and select Copy Drop List to Clipboard. This action will copy all unique surnames to the clipboard, so you can paste them to Notepad or a spreadsheet. You can do the same action for any field.
The other alternative is to use the Table Layout. In the Table Layout, you can use the same copy command, or use the Find & Replace dialog. The Find & Replace dialog has a Pick button which will generate a list of unique surnames. You can copy this list to the clipboard too.
