I am attempting to use the free web publishing feature of the report generator, but when I try to access the tree at the URL listed in the generator, it returns a "403 - Forbidden: Access is denied" error page. I have not password-protected the family tree. I also get this error when clicking through from my account page at http://collaboration.genopro.com/Account.aspx.
Could someone advise as to how I can get around this issue and view the tree I have published?

Thanks for responding. I've tried several times at the same location and adding a subdirectory, and still have this result. Not sure if it's related, but I was also unable to publish a report to my desktop; the specific issue was that the application did not produce a default.html or index.html page to view the report. It wrote a bunch of other files (CSS, etc.) but nothing where I could view the actual interactive report, as it is featured on the web site.

There is a problem with the Narrative Report built in to GenoPro, connected with Internet Explorer that is used for the Configuration Parameters dialogue that prevents a valid report from being generated. Please download the latest Narrative Report and carefully follow these instructions on how to install it.

Thanks for responding. Unfortunately, no luck. I downloaded that skin and followed the instructions to try to use it. I got this error message when using that skin:
Error at line 67 (default.htm): Invalid procedure call or argument: '[string: "(null)"]' Microsoft VBScript runtime error 800A0005
I got this result when attempting to generate the report both on my desktop and then online.
Is the software just very buggy in terms of generating reports?

If you are getting 'error at line 67' then you are still invoking the built-in report and NOT the updated one!
Please read the instructions again carefully. If you search this forum using 800A0005 as the search term you will find manay many posts on this issue. I even wrote a How To for this Please please tell me how I should change the instructions to make them understood by everyone.

Thanks -- I hadn't scrolled down for all of the instructions. I got it to generate the report using the skin you indicated in the instructions. Thanks!

I've been trying now for far too long to download the new skins. When generating the new skins I get a message regarding "Just in time Debugging", when clicking "yes" or "no" to use it, the box closes to be replaced by one which says Cannot Create Application Data Folder.
After just adding more Family data and finding I cannot make generational reports going back to the mid 1700's I'm more than a little annoyed with GenoPro, having used it for the last 10 years very successfully.
Trust you can assist in this matter.
Just don't shout.

If you are having difficulties installing the updated report templates then I suggest you install the trial of GenoPro 2016 that has the latest skins contained within it.
If you believe you have correctly installed the latest Narrative Report skin on GenoPro 2011 and are getting errors when trying to generate report using it then please provide full details of the error messages you receive (e.g screen shots if possible). I am afraid that at the moment 'Cannot Create Application Data Folder' does not give me much a a clue as to where to look for the error you are getting.
You say that you have been 'trying for far too long' to download the new skins. If you can provide any details of the problems you have had then may be I can resolve them. Oh what it would be to be a fly on the wall! So you are annoyed with GenoPro but I am frustrated that I cannot actually see the problems!
Essentially I am a GenoPro user for ten or so years like yourself who just happens to have some spare time and enthusiasm for the product and who enjoys a challenge and dabbling in 'scripting' (aka programming in Javascript). |

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I downloaded the 2016 version of GenoPro hoping this would solve the issue and am still unable to generate reports. Click on Generate Report to Generate report on whole of Doc1. Report skin is Customised EN Report. Click generate report and I get dialogue box for Just in time Debugging. Asks if I want to debug using the selected debugger. Click yes or no and I get "Error at line 67 (default htm) Invalid procedure call or argument" Microsoft VB Script runtime error 800A0005.
Trust this is of help to solve the issue.
Regards.
John.

Hi John, You are still trying to run the old GenoPro 2011 Narrative Report. With GenoPro 2016 in the drop down list of Report skins you should have {EN} Narrative Report this is the latest one. The first time you run it it will perform some initialisation but on subsequent runs the report should generate. (fingers crossed!)

OK. You can uncross your fingers. I can generate reports, they just aren't in the same format as before. I'm sure as I learn the new features all will be ok. Thanks for your patience and help.
Regards.
John.

Dear friend, hello. I really need your help! In 2010, I posted on FamilyTrees.GenoPro.com Online publication of my family tree. All I kept backups on a laptop that was a big mistake. Unfortunately, my laptop was stolen. I was hoping that I could unload my family tree from your own site. But at the moment when my attempt to link http://familytrees.genopro.com/699115/%D0%9D%D0%B5%D1%84%D1%91%D0%B4%D0%BE%D0%B2 / I get a "Page not found" At the same time when searching the site I find all the records in my family. Entries are correct and in full. References to the pages of family members look like strange and are not available: |

Looking in the index finds a reference to your report at http://familytrees.genopro.com/699115/Нефёдов/ This link also says that there is something wrong here, presumably corrupted in some way. Hopefully Dan can access this and recover something
When you get back, you can make an online backup onto the GenoPro server, using links on the file menu
