I think you should have a page that lists all the family trees that have been put online at http://familytrees.genopro.com/. Of course people should have the option not to have their trees viewed publicly if the do not wish them to be. I think it would be interesting to see how others have developed there trees and sites.

Some homepage is really necessary...

In case all the data are in plain sight - for privacy reason - I would like to see an option of (at least) access through (e-mail confirmed) registration with password...

Last name listings of all trees available might be on some page directly linked to a homepage, and with no registration needed...

...but as someone wiser then me said...

There will be a home page to display statistics and categories such as:
  • New reports.
  • Updated reports.
  • Biggest reports.
  • Most pictured reports.
  • Popular reports (count visitors).
  • Random reports.
  • ...

There is also plan to update your personal forum profile page to list your publications like you have them in your control panel.

It's also interesting that Castoral pointed out the need to hide some reports online. At the moment, we have no mechanism to hide and/or password protect a report, however we plan to implement it at the same time as the statistics. By the time the statistics are available, you are welcome to publish your family tree at http://familytrees.genopro.com/.

Here is some statistics as of today:
There is currently 41 reports online, 2239 photos and 27 657 pages.
The biggest report is AppleShaw with 8324 pages.
The most pictured report is beraha with 749 photos.
The latest published report is you Castoral.

The online publishing service is still in Beta phase... more features will be available...

We plan to implement a feature to display the trees published at http://familytrees.genopro.com/.  Of course, we will offer the option in the Control Panel to hide specific trees.

We also plan to display statistics about the number of visitors and pages that have been visited most.  Another feature we want to have is do is a mechanism for users to "vote" or "rank" the quality of a given report with a scale from 1 star to 5 stars.

"Anyone who gives up liberty for a little bit of safety, deserves neither liberty nor safety" Quote from Benjamin Franklin

I love this quote.

If there is sensitive information, this can be excluded when the report is generated as with the "Living details" .

I intend to update my tree on this site with the full tree which contains over 7000 names and will remove living details except for myself for which I must tick myself as dead in order to be included.

Later when the upload of separate pages is permitted I will be able to upload my corrected page as "living"!

I have not yet thought of uploading my private trees with the "living" as they are at the moment accessible from my main web site home page so I would need to make them accessible from the home page of my tree report before uploading them.

The index page will be most appreciated as no one can see other people's trees at the moment unless the link is included in a message like this one :-

 http://familytrees.genopro.com/iaintait/Beath-and-Tait/

This report was made from a special tree from which I had removed all living people which is why I am entered as an only child whereas in fact I have a brother and two sisters.

This is a known problem.  At the moment, the privacy filter has little options.  Our next privacy filter will offer custom filtering by GenoMap down to specific individuals.

As of today you can view publication of another member within it's user profile.

You can also set a description to your publication and choose to hide a report.  The feature to hide a report is only available to GenoPro customers.

The next step will be a full listing of all reports with visitors stats.  We also plan to offer a mechanism to protect a report with a password.  Again those features will be available only to GenoPro customers.

My tree has increased to over 13000 names since Christmas and more will be coming soon from descendants of a sybling of my paternal great grandfather, so would like to know if the possibility of changing just one page can be in place soon so that I may add my page without having to mark myself as dead to be included in the report! Crying

I will then be able to upload my full tree. Tongue

The list of trees suggested would be nice as I have tried looking through the member pages, but there are thousands of them! Blink

At the moment, this is not possible.  I understand this is a big drawback for the report generator to not be able to include/exclude specific individuals.  You can be certain the new privacy filter (after the release of v2.0) will have the option to include, exclude and/or modify specific objects such as individuals, families, pictures, etc.
