One possibility would be to have the option to contact the author if an incorrect password is entered for any reason This is a great suggestion. We will implement this feature for sure. We also need to write a good HTTP 404 handler (file not found) to display the visitor landing on the non-existent page about the author who originally generated the now deleted file.

By the way, your report is hidden if password-protected. Therefore it is impossible for a visitor to be aware there is such a report, never mind contacting the author.
There are two reasons why I suggested that a link to the author should be added to the password protected page
1 I can guarantee that some members of my family who have been told about the web site will forget the password and it would be easier to have a link, rather than have to remember an email address. We are dealing with an older generation here!
2 If for any reason it is necessary to change the password it is better that the new version is distributed through the web site, to the people who know the link but not the new access code.

I published my tree (with 16c) as password protected, and there is no envelope, nor any other kind of link?! You need to select the built-in skin named "English Narrative Report". You are probably publishing using Beta 16c with using a custom skin. If your skin begins with a backslash (\), it means a custom skin. Thanks, It was the case!

V.L.o (6/8/2006) 1. There is still a simple roundabout by which it is possible to see all the trees published by someone (including hidden and password protected). Is it posible to have this "page" as a homepage for an author of trees, and edit in in some way?Displaying the list of hidden trees published would not make them hidden anymore. Password-protected reports are not displayed because we want visitors to view genealogy reports without requesting them to type a password.

If you publish using the built-in skin "English Narrative Report" from Beta 16, you should see a little envelope at the right of the report title. See http://familytrees.genopro.com/Alfi/RO-CE-Kreiner/20060607/ for example. By the way, your report is hidden if password-protected. Therefore it is impossible for a visitor to be aware there is such a report, never mind contacting the author. 1.
