Some general points about reporting and one that relates to my use of hyperlinked families. I cleared the cache and redownloaded, so hopefully I have the latest version. Is there a way to check this?

I have generated a new version at http://familytrees.genopro.com/appleshaw/SussexSteers/

1 The most popular places are still showing the zero occurrences before the main list

2 When I open the person's details there can be two icons at the top right to expand/close the notes. Try James Steer (b. 1810) or those near to him.

3 James (1810) father Richard has the following comment (his wife has a similar one)

had an unspecified relationship with Richard.

I think that this is because there is a Social Relation link in the .gno file which can be seen on the .svg. However the .svg has not picked up that the other individuals are hyperlinks and in the .gno they are named. (This is being used to show that I think that the marriage in Petworth is of the family shown in Egdean - but not proven)

4 James Steer (b. 1810) appears with his wife Sarah in three different parishes as some children were born in each of them. All individuals are linked so that the information is the same on each GenoMap. On the present version it does not seem possible to hyperlink the marriages in the same way and so the report ends up showing three separate marriages of James & Sarah.

Any suggestions about how to clarify this?

I don't have all the answers, however I can answer this one:

1 The most popular places are still showing the zero occurrences before the main list

I fixed this bug this morning.  The fix will be available in Beta 17e. See conversation Most Popular Places for details about the fix.

To remove the zero occurrences, use the privacy option Remove Stray Objects (highly recommended).

Ok I will try to answer the points raised:

1) The fix for zero occurrences will be in Beta 17e which is not released as yet.

2) Your report still contains files from older releases. The file script.js is from an version older than 17d and does not contain the function 'ToggleTree' that is called when the buttons are clicked. The two buttons are different, one collapses/expands all notes (blue) and the other collapses/expands other topics (brown/gold) e.g. Occupations, Educations & references. These are not working because of the wrong script.js file. I also noticed I have given the same 'tooltip' to both, which obviously confuses the issue. I need to correct this.

3) The narrative I see is ' <unknown> had an unspecified relationship with Richard'. The hyperlinks at the other end of the Social Relationships in your .gno have no name, hence the <unknown>. To avoid this being reported in the future you could use just an arrow shape rather than a Social Relationship. Note that at present the SVG graphic only handles hyperlink rings of two objects (see post http://support.genopro.com/Topic11748-86-1.aspx#bm11780

4) You appear to effectively have 3 families, since the children of each are different. You can remove some families from the report by checking the 'make label / exclude from report' box in the Summary tag the the Family Properties dialogue. However if you do this clicking on such  family link in the SVG graphic will return the wrong page (I need to fix this) and the 'families' in the other parishes will not be accessible. I think by trying to split the family between parishes you are attempting to achieve something that GenoPro is not designed for.

Thanks for these comments.

1 I can live with the blanks until 2.17e

2 The question arises about the file script.js. As I explained I re-downloaded 17d, having deleted the original files. However I have several other versions of GenoPro in separate folders. The report was generated from within 17d, where only the standard skin now exists
The same tooltip had me fooled although the icons did look slightly different. However how do we make sure that we are using all of the latest files. Is it better to delete all older versions of GenoPro?

3 I see what you mean about familytrees.gno - no hyperlinks for the contact with Richard Steer. This has got lost in the preparation of the report as it still exists in the original. The ind number has been preserved but the name is lost.
I had forgotten the posting on a hyperlink ring - even though I had commented there. One thought I had last night about this is would the use of right click help here? I obviously do not know anything about how this works

4 I understand that I am pushing what GenoPro can do - that is what Beta testing is for? I remember about a year ago there was a discussion on moving/hyperlinking marriages and Dan said it caused problems. I am wondering if this is a reporting problem as at first look there are no problems in GenoPro itself. However I have only started using this technique as I start to sort out IGI data with census records. It may be more of a problem than it seems to be at present

This problem gets more complicated as there is a mix of issues concerned with installation and the Report Generator. The problem is that I have a marriage on two Genomaps that I think are the same people. I have created hyperlinks from one GenoMap to the other and used the Social Relationship line to indicate the link.

After many attempts to change (ie delete) hyperlinks and Relationships I can not produce a report identifying both names.
I then created a Restore Point; uninstalled 2.17d and deleted all other versions of GenoPro; used Regedit to remove any reference to Morin/genopro; rebooted and reinstalled 2.17d and created a Report.

Success (partial) see http://familytrees.genopro.com/appleshaw/SussexSteer/. Richard Steer (b 1778) has 'an unspecified relationship with Richard.'

However there is no GenoPro link, only the .svg link, because this version will not write Familytrees.gno. Writing to the hard disc, it does produce Familytrees.xml which imports to show the correct original links.

I have now restored to the original state and repeated the uninstall/deletion/reboot/instal routine but without using regedit and am back to where I started. Familytrees.gno will be written but the hyperlink between the two GenoMaps disappears and so the 'unspecified relationship' is with

I give up and get back to updating my IGI data from census records and hope it will get sorted

In the Report Generator dialogue, the default option under the Privacy tab is to not generate the .gno file:

Have you checked that option?

Thanks for that - it is probably the reason for no familytrees.gno. By scrubbing everything I ended with the default and forgot (did not know) that it did no include this.
Still do not know why the other problems arise
