I am lost. I exported a file from
Family Tree
Maker and I am trying to add my grandmother as a spouse to my grandfather and their 4 children. I have added her as a spouse, but when I try to add her as a parent to each child, I seem to have to do each one separately and it adds a whole bunch of extra lines. There must be an easier way. I tried to delete each child and re-add them but it messes up their relationships with their spouses and children. I have searched the
help files
but don't seem to have the right keyword. It doesn't seem like I would have to delete everything and start from scratch, but I am beginning to wonder....
I am new at this, but must say I am already frustrated that there aren't clearer easier to access help files.
Thanks for your time,

Usually when I start a program I have never used before I look for the menu and the short cuts it provides. In case of Genopro I guess most of the new users do not bother to read the first few lines it shows on the screen when starting a new document.
Highlight your grandmother and click the letter "f" on your keyboard. You will have now used the most frequent short cut. It will open a dialog box where you can add the children.
If you have a couple, but did not enter children yet, highlight the
union
line (the
link
between this couple) and click "f".
If you have a male and a female and want them to be a couple, highlight both
persons
and click "Ctrl + m".
I hope this will
help
you smooth your work.

Thank you. I kind of figured it out in a roundabout way. This way sounds much easier.

oh...and I did read the lines before starting a document, but my confusion came after I imported the file from another program and I was no longer starting from scratch.
Thanks for your time,
