Since latest upgrade now entire bloodlines are all Alcoholics thanks to default color setting. NOT the gender display symbol but that the blue color I have associated with approximately 2000 people and pedigree links. I thought improvements were supposed to make a program better not impossible to work with or around.

So how do I shut off the medical COLOR defaults to this system.  I want this program to build my family tree, not trace medical or social/psychological traits. I did not initiate the family tree with GenoPro, but after using it, I liked it. Now that the medical defaults have ruined my extensive work I am reconsidering the usefulness and viability of this program.

Please help.

Just use the direct download link http://www.genopro.com/InstallGenoPro.exe . Your computer may use a firewall, proxy, or anti-virus preventing GenoPro to automatically upgrade itself.

Thank you for reporting this bug.  The problem is the text in the About dialog displays "GenoPro Version 2.5.3.7" while the actual version is 2.5.3.8.  I forgot to change the value of this label.

I made a new update of GenoPro 2.5.3.8 with the proper text in the About dialog.  I also included the latest language pack update.  Feel free to run a check for updates and you should not see this problem again.

I updated from version 2.5.3.4 by using the "check for updates" option inside genopro version 2.5.3.4,

I selected to update to a new folder for version 2.5.3.8, which proceeded OK and changed the desktop shortcut to point to the
version 2.5.3.8 files.

When I open the Genopro from the
2.5.3.8 shortcut, it starts OK.

Viewing "help about" shows version 2.5.3.7, but using "Check for updates" from the "Help about" menu shows version 2.5.3.8.
(see attachment)

It seems that with version
2.5.3.8, there is a version mis-match between what "help about" reports, and what "check for updates reports"

I have never had version 2.5.3.7 installed on this PC, so it cannot be picking it up from PC.

When I try to update from version 2.5.3.4 to version 2.5.3.8, it says that it is updating to version 2.5.3.8, but when I check in Help / About in Genoprp, it says I have version 2.5.3.7

But then I try Help / Check for updates, and it says I have version 2.5.3.8

It is possible to install multiple versions of GenoPro, therefore you may be using a shortcut opening GenoPro version 2.5.3.4.  Can you check if your shortcut uses the latest installation.

We have Genopro 2007 and when asking for update to 2011 ,says  download Genopro Version 2.5.3.8 , but when requested there is an message 'Unable to open ''http: //www.genepro.com/installGenopro.exe.
Do we have to reinstall the  new version and how do I load my trees?
Have backed up my trees online.
Regards
Michael and Penny Oram
