How do I ensure I get the correct location in Google maps in a generated report? For example, I have the location Amesbury in Wiltshire. In GenoPro, I have this set as Place Name: Amesbury Place Category: Town City: Amesbury County: Wiltshire Country: England but Google maps shows me some location in the USA. If I change the city to Salisbury, it then points to Salisbury, UK Setting the lat/long does not correct the problem. Similarly, changing the country to UK has no effect. Neither do postcodes have any effect
On investigating this issue I discovered a bug in the code whereby only the 1st component of the address was being passed to the Google Mpas API. I have published a revised skin that I believe corrects this problem.

Yes, setting lat/long now works. Perhaps I didn't have sufficient resolution in the numbers I entered before.

Before posting my original message, I tried inserting lat/long coordinates, but it didn't seem to work. I'll have another try.

Google Maps API seems to think America first. I have seen it find obscure places in Canada but get other places completely wrong. The best way is to insert latitude/longitude in the place properties. I use Streetmap.co.uk to find a place and this has an option beneath the map to get coordinates. These can then be copied and pasted into GenoPro. Bit of a nuisance but if you link other places to parent places this will reduce the number needed.
I think that the Google API uses different gazetteer for places from Google Earth
