According to https://genopro.com/help/report-generator/customizing/ pressing edit creates a copy of the current report. It does not it just opens the folder. No prompts are given.
I have tried copying a report (as described if you press new skin) but it throws up errors saying I have to delete the code sub folder. So what is there left to customise? I have tried copying a theme but that doesn't work either.

So my question is: is there actually a place where I can find how to make a viable copy of a report that I can customise?

Let me tell you a story, once upon a time GenoPro.exe had embedded in it all the Report Skin Templates so if you wanted to make changes to a Report Skin Template then GenoPro had to export it into a file system folder to allow the user to edit the files of that skin.

The main reason for editing a report was to produce a report in another language.  Unfortunately as well as a new Dictionary.xml file this also created copies of the VBScript/JScript files of the report skin.  A maintenance nightmare!

Time has passed and I, a GenoPro user and fan who enjoys coding as a hobby, am now largely responsible for the creation and maintenance of all the Report Skin Templates.  However I have no input to the GenoPro website including help files that are now out of step with the real world.  I devised a method to use a common code folder for all report skins script files etc, including all language variants.  GenoPro Inc. seemed somewhat reluctant to change the way GenoPro.exe worked to facilitate this and so I had to get it to work under the existing .exe which involved creating a link to the Code from the Skin Template folder to the Common\Code folder.  This is why you are prompted to delete the Code folder under the Report Skin folder in order to create that link.

To cut a long story short, if you want to customise a report I suggest you copy the required Report Skin folder, e.g. {EN} Narrative Report, and the Report Skins 'Common 'folder to a new GenoPro Report Skins folder and make your changes there and instruct GenoPro to use this new Skins folder via the 'Generate Report' Options tab.

I may not have explained this very well but I hope it helps Ermm

Thanks for that. You confirmed my own conclusion.
