Would it be possible to have all Report Generator documentation zipped in a single file and to have it available for download on a beta page (once it's done).

Eventually it might become a part of some help file...

Thanks

My thoughts exactly!!!
Thanks Dan. You are the best.

Is it too much to ask that it will be printer friendly?

I have been neglectful updating the documentation. I have been spreading myself thin with all kind of tasks, including the installation of a new support forum at http://support.genopro.com/. I am waiting for version 4.0 of the Instant Forum before making the final move. This Instant Forum is wirtten in .NET and more scalable than phpBB. I have a script to transfer all the posts from phpBB to the new forum.

There are issues making this documentation to a .zip file. The first was all the css was pointing to file in the root directory of GenoPro.com. I changed that so the documentation has its own sdk.css. The second issue is about hyperlink navigation. All the hyperlinks in the documentation are made to be on the web, pointing to the folder rather than directly than "default.htm". This makes the navigation very difficult on the local drive because when clicking on the hyperlink, the folder is being displayed rather than the page itself. By the way, I am working on changing the navigation structure of GenoPro, and looking for different options for documenting the Report Generator.

Any suggestions? I want something scalable because I expect to put thousand of pages with sample scripts to help people developing reports.

I have been spreading myself thin with all kind of tasks, including the installation of a new support forum at http://support.genopro.com/.

I saw the new forum. It looks a lot better. But please pay attention that the user full name is displayed there.

As to the documentation - just a thought - why not do a simple text file (PDF format) with each function/methods/attributes described in details?
You can work on it and improve it and do a fancy documentation when you will have the time.

Version 4.0 of the forum has a special field for the username which may be different from the full name. Once version 4.0 is available, I will re-run the script and make sure the users and messages are imported properly.

The PDF is a good suggestion. I will have to *learn* how to do PDFs. Thanks.

Dan,

Please note, not all of the posts moved over to the new forum.

Pdf is a simple file format. Only thing you should have is some text editor and tool to convert text to *.pdf...

I have used adobe acrobat, and option print to *.pdf/ print to file... Anything you see as print preview goes directly to a document...

I even used this option to send Genopro document to a family, who just wanted to print it out!
